DESCRIPTION:
WoW! One of our all time favourite cameras! A well built quality folding camera that is able to produce some vibrant photography yet carry around in your pocket.
The Isolette III (1951-60) is the best-specified Isolette, with an uncoupled rangefinder. The rangefinder is operated with a small knurled thumb-wheel on the right hand of the raised part of the top housing, and the distance is read off and transferred to the lens, which has front-element focusing like all the Isolettes. This particular model is fitted with a coated 85 mm f/4.5 SOLINAR lens, being the top range of the Agfa lenses at the time it is still capable of producing superbly sharp and contrasty images.
Solinar was the AGFA's version of the renowned 4 lens elements Carl Zeiss TESSAR.
The Synchro-Compur shutter offers all speeds from B, 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8,1/15,1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500.
It has a flash sync switch for M or X and flash is connected using the PC (Prontor-Compur) socket—the "German" style connector, which eventually became the global standard.
There is no delayed action mechanism.
